# Your first request and the sandbox

Try the API without a key in the sandbox, then make a real request with yours.

All collections: [API & integrations](https://app.ueventi.com/docs/en/api-and-integrations)

The API lives at **https://api.ueventi.com**. Every request is a normal HTTPS call that returns JSON, so it works from any language, from tools like Zapier or Make, and from AI agents.

## Start in the sandbox

The sandbox needs no key and never touches real data. It holds a sample wedding and a sample bar mitzvah with a few guests each, so you can test a client end to end before asking for a key.

- **GET https://api.ueventi.com/v1/sandbox/events** - lists the sample events.
- **GET https://api.ueventi.com/v1/sandbox/events/evt_sandbox_wedding/guests** - lists the wedding's guests with their RSVP status.
- **GET https://api.ueventi.com/v1/sandbox/events/evt_sandbox_wedding/rsvps** - the RSVP totals in one call.

## Your first real request

Send your key in the Authorization header as a bearer token. For example, with curl: **curl -H "Authorization: Bearer ev_live_..." https://api.ueventi.com/v1/events**. You'll get your workspace's events back, each with its guest count.

Lists come in pages. When a response has a **next_cursor**, pass it back as **?cursor=** to get the next page. When it's **null**, you have everything.

## Limits and errors

Each key can make 60 requests a minute (the sandbox: 30 per address). Every response says how much is left in the **RateLimit-Remaining** header. If you go over, you get a **429** with a **Retry-After** header telling you how many seconds to wait.

Errors are always JSON with an **error** code, a **message** and a **how_to_fix** field that says what to do next. A **401** means the key is missing or revoked, a **403** means it lacks a permission, a **404** means the event isn't in your workspace.

> **Note:** The full reference with every field is at [ueventi.com/developers](https://ueventi.com/developers), and the machine-readable spec at [api.ueventi.com/openapi.json](https://api.ueventi.com/openapi.json).
