# Password-protect your website

There's no password. Here's how your website stays private without one.

Event websites on Eventi don't have a password, and most hosts don't need one. Here is what keeps the website private.

- **Hidden from search by default.** Search engines are asked not to list the website, and it isn't in the events directory, unless you turn on **Show in search engines**.
- **Personal links.** Every guest gets their own link from their invitation. Only that guest's name and RSVP appear on it.
- **Nothing about guests is public.** The guest list, phone numbers and answers live in your dashboard only.
- **Guest lookup is limited.** When **Guests can find their invitation** is on, a visitor types their phone number and sees only their own first name. The lookup is rate-limited to stop guessing.

## Make it stricter

1. Open **Website** and go to the **Settings** tab.
2. Keep **Show in search engines** off.
3. Turn off **Guests can find their invitation**, so only guests with a personal link can reply.
4. Choose a website name that's hard to guess, like your names plus the year, under **Website address**.
