# Export RSVPs with the API

Download the guest list with RSVP answers as a CSV, ready for a planner or a spreadsheet.

Exports run in the background, so the API answers right away and you download the file when it's ready. You need a key with the **Export guest lists** permission.

1. Send **POST https://api.ueventi.com/v1/events/{id}/exports** with the body **{"format": "csv"}**. You get a **202** with a **job_id** and a **status_url**.
2. Poll the status URL every couple of seconds. The **status** goes from **queued** to **running** to **done** (or **failed**, with an **error** that says why).
3. When it's **done**, download **result_url**. The response is a CSV file.

The CSV has one row per guest with these columns: **name**, **phone**, **language**, **party_size_invited**, **party_size_confirmed**, **rsvp_status**, **side** and **group**. It opens directly in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

## Just the totals

If you only need the numbers, call **GET /v1/events/{id}/rsvps** instead. It returns how many guests said yes, no or maybe, how many are still pending, and how many people are coming in total.

> **Note:** The file contains every guest's phone number. Share it only with people who need it, and revoke the key when the tool no longer needs access.
